MARCELO MARTINS WERNECK

MARCELO MARTINS WERNECK nasceu em Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, e graduou-se em Engenharia Eletrônica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC) em 1975. Obteve seu MSc pelo Programa de Engenharia Biomédica da COPPE, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) em 1977. Em 1978 ingressou para o Departamento de Eletrônica e Computação da UFRJ onde é atualmente Professor Titular. Seu PhD foi obtido pela University of Sussex, no Reino Unido em 1985. Atualmente é coordenador do Laboratório de Instrumentação e Fotônica do Programa de Engenharia Elétrica da COPPE onde desenvolve pesquisas na área de instrumentação e transdutores a fibra óptica. Suas pesquisas concentram-se nas áreas de Engenharia Elétrica e Fotônica, atuando principalmente em Instrumentação Eletrônica e Sensores a Fibra Óptica. Em 2014 participou do credenciamento na UFRJ e na CAPES do 13º Programa de Pós Graduação da COPPE, o Programa de Engenharia de Nanotecnologi (PENt) onde atuou como Vice-Coordenador. Atualmente desenvolve no PENt pesquisas em nanofotônica e nanobiosensores. Marcelo Werneck é bolsista PQ-1 do CNPq e Cientista de Nosso Estado pela FAPERJ. Marcelo Werneck é revisor das seguintes revistas internacionais: Analytica Chimica Acta, Biosensors and Bioelectronics , IEEE Sensors, IET-Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Journal of LIghwave Tecnology, Optics Express, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement, Sensors & Actuators, Optics and Laser Technology, Optical Engineering, entre outras. MARCELO MARTINS WERNECK was born in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC) in 1975. He obtained his MSc from the Biomedical Engineering Program at COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1977. In 1978 he joined the Department of Electronics and Computing at UFRJ where he is currently Full Professor. His PhD was obtained by the University of Sussex, UK, in 1985. He is currently coordinator of the Instrumentation and Photonics Laboratory of the Electrical Engineering Program at COPPE where he develops research in the field of optical fibers, instrumentation and transducers. His research is concentrated in the areas of Electrical and Photonic Engineering, working mainly in Electronic Instrumentation and Optical Fiber Sensors. In 2014, he participated in the accreditation at UFRJ and CAPES of COPPE's 13th Postgraduate Program, the Nanotechnology Engineering Program (PENt) where he served as Vice-Coordinator. He currently develops research in nanophotonics and nanobiosensors at PENt. Marcelo Werneck has a PQ-1 scholarship from CNPq and a Cientista de Nosso Estado by FAPERJ.
