Possui graduação em Bacharelado em Física pela Universidade de São Paulo (1977) e mestrado em Astronomia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1985). Atualmente é pesquisadora Associada II do MCTI / Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica. Tem experiência em pesquisa na área de Astrofísica, com ênfase em Galáxias, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: astronomia, fotometria, ensino, divulgação e galáxias aneladas peculiares. É a gestora da Divulgação e Ensino Não Formal do LNA/MCTI e é a representante nacional nas redes de divulgação e ensino do NOIRLab - National Optical-Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory, EUA. É a Gerente Nacional do Telescópio Canadá-França-Havaí (CFHT). É revisora junto à Revista Latino-americana de Ensino de Astronomia - RELEA-, e foi revisora da Revista Production, publicada pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia de Produção - ABEPRO. É doutora em Engenharia de Produção pelo Instituto de Engenharia de Produção e Gestão da Universidade Federal de Itajubá - IEPG/UNIFEI, na área de Qualidade, Simulação e Modelagem.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1977) and a Master's Degree in Astronomy from the University of São Paulo (1985). She is currently a researcher at MCTI / National Laboratory of Astrophysics. She has experience in astrophysics research, focusing on Extragalactic Astrophysics, acting on the following subjects: photometry, image enhancement techniques, educational outreach, public information, peculiar Ring Galaxies. She is responsible for the scientific, technological and institutional outreach of the MCTI / LNA and presently acts as the Brazilian liaison in Gemini Observatory's Pubic Information and Outreach Network, Brazilian liaison at the SOAR Telescope's Public Affairs and Educational Outreach Network and as Brazilian Manager of the Canada-France-Hawai'i Telescope - CFHT. She also acts as referee for the Latin American Journal of Astronomy Education - RELEA-, and the Production journal, which is published by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering - ABEPRO. She holds a PhD in Production Engineering from the Institute of Production Engineering and Management of the Federal University of Itajubá - IEPG / UNIFEI, in the area of Quality, Simulation and Modeling.
