Efrain Araujo Perini

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP, 2007). Completed his master's degree at the same university in partnership with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech, USA) and graduated in 2009. Got his PhD degree in 2020 in Nuclear Technology from São Paulo University (USP) Nuclear and Energy Research Institute (IPEN). He worked as a researcher at the Navy Technological Center in São Paulo (CTMSP) in active and dynamic rotor control applied to centrifuges of uranium enrichment. In 2010, he joined the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN), and since then he has been assigned to the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute (IPEN) working in the Radiopharmacy Center. From 2010 to 2018 he worked as co-manager of Infrastructure and Project Manager. Currently (since July, 2018) he is the Head of Radiopharmacy Center in IPEN. He has participated in the project of the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor (RMB), in which he developed his PhD thesis with the theme of medical radioisotope production. He also has a coordinated research project (CRP) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with the theme: New ways of producing Tc-99m and Tc-99m generators.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP, 2007). Também concluiu seu mestrado na mesma universidade em parceria com a Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech, EUA) em 2009. Concluiu o seu doutorado em 2020 pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP/IPEN) em Tecnologia Nuclear - Aplicações, com ênfase na produção de radioisótopos médicos. Trabalhou como pesquisador no Centro Tecnológico da Marinha em São Paulo (CTMSP) em controle ativo e dinâmica de rotores aplicados às centrífugas de enriquecimento de urânio. Em 2010 ingressou na Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN), e desde então está alocado no Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares (IPEN) atuando no Centro de Radiofarmácia onde atuava como gerente adjunto de Infraestrutura e Apoio e Coordenador de Projetos. Atualmente (julho, 2018) ocupa o cargo de Gerente Geral do Centro de Radiofarmácia do IPEN/CNEN-SP. Possui participação no projeto do Reator Multipropósito Brasileiro (RMB), tema no qual desenvolveu a sua tese de doutorado. Também possui projeto de pesquisa coordenado (CRP) na Agência Internacional de Energia Atômia (IAEA) com o tema: Novas maneiras de produção de Tc-99m e geradores de Tc-99m.
