Janaina Japiassu de Vasconcelos Cavalcante

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences - Bachelor's and Bachelor's degree from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1998), Master's Degree in Plant Biotechnology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001) and PhD in Biological Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006). Postdoctoral experience with molecular biology of microorganisms at the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (USA). Research Technologist in Metrology and Quality at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology - INMETRO, at the Microbiology Laboratory, working within the areas of identification and quantification of Microorganisms. Has experience in the areas of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, with emphasis on Genetics of Microorganisms, working mainly on the following topics: metrology applied to microbiology, methods of identification and quantification of microorganisms, analysis of differential gene expression and cloning. Inmetro representative at the CCQM (Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology) meetings in the Working Group on Cell Analysis (CCQM-CAWG) at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures BIPM. Member of the Regional Council of Biology - CRBio 2 region.

Graduada em Ciências Biológicas-Licenciatura e Bacharelado pela Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (1998), com mestrado em Biotecnologia Vegetal pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2001) e doutorado em Química Biológica pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2006). Experiência de Pós doutorado com biologia molecular de microrganismos no Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) na University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). Atualmente é Pesquisador-Tecnologista em Metrologia e Qualidade do Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia- INMETRO, no Laboratório de Microbiologia (LAMIC), atuando dentro das áreas de identificação e quantificação de Microrganismos. Tem experiência nas áreas de Microbiologia e Genética Molecular, com ênfase em Genética de Microrganismos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: metrologia aplicada à microbiologia, métodos de identificação e quantificação de microrganismos, análise da expressão gênica diferencial e clonagem. Representa o Inmetro nas reuniões do CCQM (Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology) dentro do Working Group on Cell Analysis (CCQM-CAWG) no Bureau International des Poids et Mesures BIPM.
