Profa Dra. Isabel de Camargo Neves Sacco

Prof. Isabel C. N. Sacco has a Bachelor?s degree (1995), a MSc (1997) and a PhD (2001) in Physical Education by the University of Sao Paulo, São Paulo (Brazil). Her graduation and post-graduation majors focused on the diabetic neuropathy, and since then it is her main clinical and scientific expertise. Nowadays, she is an Associate Professor (MS5-3) at the School of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo (since 1999); 1B Research fellow of CNPq-Brazil (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development); and the head of the Laboratory of Biomechanics of Movement and Human Posture (LaBiMPH), whose main areas of research today include Education in Health, Biomechanics and rehabilitation of diabetic and osteoarthritis patients, and recreational runners. Prof. Sacco is on the editorial specialists? board of the Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy and serves as a reviewer of several Journals in the Biomechanics and Rehabilitation fields all over the world. Prof. Sacco is a member of the Prevention International Working Group on Diabetic Foot that establishes the International Guidelines for Prevention of the Diabetic Foot every 4 years. Currently, she is acting as the Director of the Post Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences at School of Medicine USP (2015-2019; 2023-2025). She had been honored by the Brazilian Government as one of the only 22 young (under forty years old) female Brazilian scientists in the national territory with a recognized merit, building up an academic carrier of national and international recognition with relevant scientific production and important role in the formation of human resources. Professora Associada MS 5 - 3 (Livre-docente) da Faculdade de Medicina (SP) da Universidade de São Paulo (desde 1999). Bacharelado em Educação Física (1995), mestrado(1997) e doutorado (2001) em Educação Física todos pela Universidade de São Paulo (EEFE-USP). Os temas de seus trabalhos finais de graduação e pós-graduação foram focados na neuropatia diabética, e desde então é a sua principal área de investigação científica e atuação profissional. É pesquisadora 1B (desde 2015) do CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico) e coordena o Laboratório de Biomecânica do Movimento e Postura Humana (LaBiMPH), cujas principais áreas de investigação hoje incluem Biomecânica e Reabilitação de pessoas com diabetes e osteoartrite, e de corredores recreacionais. É membro do corpo de editores especialistas da Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy e serve como revisora de periódicos em Biomecânica e Reabilitação, e agências de fomento no Brasil e no mundo. É membro do Prevention International Working Group on Diabetic Foot que estabelece as Diretrizes para a Prevenção do Pé diabético a cada 4 anos. Atualmente atua como coordenadora do Programa de Pós graduação em Ciências da Reabilitação FMUSP (2015-2019; 2023-2025). Foi homenageada em 2014 pelo CNPq como uma das 22 jovens mulheres pesquisadoras PQ-1 (com menos de 40 anos de idade), por sua carreira acadêmica de reconhecimento nacional e internacional com relevante produção científica e importante papel na formação de recursos humanos.
