Prof Dr. Stélio Pacca Loureiro Luna

Graduation in Veterinary Medicine Medicine (1984), Residence in Veterinary Anesthesiology (1985) and Msci (1990) at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ), from the University of São Paulo State (Unesp). PhD at the University of Cambridge, England, (1993). Lecturer at FMVZ, Unesp since 1987, where since 2008 was a Full Professor, where retired in 2022, but remained as a volunteer. Research Fellow at CNPq, since 1996, Diplomate from the European College of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Analgesia since 1995, Title of Specialist in Veterinary Anesthesiology (2005-2015) and in Veterinary Acupuncture since 2017 given by the Brazilian Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV). Certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society - USA (2001). He works in the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology, focusing on assessment and management of pain, acupuncture, animal welfare and bioethics. Member of the National Council for the Regulation of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA), of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2009-2013 and 2016-). He was a member of the CFMV (2007-2011) and CRMV-SP (2010-2011) Ethics, Bioethics and Animal Welfare Commission, President of the Brazilian College of Veterinary Surgery and Anesthesiology (2005-2006), member of the Board of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (2004-2007) and founder and First President of the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Acupuncture (1999-2004). He is the leader of the NAVE research group (Nucleus of Veterinary Anesthesiology) at CNPq.

Graduação em Medicina Veterinária (1984), Residência em Anestesiologia Veterinária (1985) e Mestrado (1990) na FMVZ, Unesp, Campus de Botucatu, SP, onde é docente desde 1987. PhD pela Universidade de Cambridge, Inglaterra, (1993). Livre Docência em 2000 e desde 2008 foi Professor Titular, quando se aposentou em 2022 e se tornou Professor Voluntário na FMVZ-Unesp-Botucatu. Bolsista Pesquisador do CNPq desde 1996 e membro do Comitê de Avaliação do CNPq 2013-2015. Diplomado pelo European College of Veterinary Anaesthesiology and Analgesia desde 1995, especialista pelo CFMV em Anestesiologia Veterinária (2005-2015) e Acupuntura Veterinária (2017-). Certificação pela International Veterinary Acupuncture Society - EUA (2001). Atua na área de Anestesiologia Veterinária, avaliação e controle da dor, acupuntura e bem-estar animal. Foi membro do CONCEA, do Ministério da Ciência Tecnologia (2009-2013 e 2016-2020). membro das Comissões de Ética, Bioética e Bem-Estar Animal do CFMV (2007-2010) e CRMV-SP (2010-2011), Presidente do Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgia e Anestesiologia Veterinária (2005-2006), membro da Diretoria da International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management - EUA (2004-2007), fundador e Presidente da Associação Brasileira de Acupuntura Veterinária (1999-2004) e da 1a. Câmara de Ética em Experimentação Animal do Brasil, na área de Medicina Veterinária (FMVZ-Unesp, Botucatu, SP;1997-1999 e 2001-2003). Membro da Comissão de Homeopatia (2021-) e do Grupo de Trabalho sobre a Cannabis medicinal na Medicina Veterinária do CRMV-SP (2022-).
