Rony Maltz

Doutorando de Artes Visuais na EBA/UFRJ, Mestre em Advanced Photographic Studies pelo International Center of Photography/Bard College (2012) e bacharel em Comunicação Social pela ECo/UFRJ (2006). Atualmente é professor da Escola de Artes Visuais no Parque Lage e do Ateliê da Imagem, no Rio de Janeiro. Criou a editora {Lp} press, especializada em livros de fotografias, e a produtora audiovisual Abrasiva. Tem experiência na área de Artes Visuais, com ênfase em Fotografia e Arte Impressa. Em Janeiro de 2019, fez a curadoria da exposição "1+1>2", de Ana Rodrigues e João Pereira, no Ateliê da Imagem, e é um dos curadores da projeção "Fotografia, Amor e Luta", organizada por Felipe Abreu (Revista Old), em Salvador, São Paulo, Curitiba, Porto Alegre e Rio de Janeiro. Em 2018, teve 3 livros selecionados no Festival Zum, do Instituto Moreira Salles; o artigo "O tempo nos fotolivros de Claudia Andujar" foi incluído no livro Midiateca 2, do laboratório "Fotografia, Imagem e Pensamento" da ECo/UFRJ; produziu a feira URCA de fotolivros (julho) e a feira FotoRio Resiste de fotografia e arte impressa (agosto); criou e produziu, com Walter Costa, a exposição e performance "O Erro, a Rua" (junho-agosto), fez a curadoria da exposição "Vitrine 21" (novembro) e organizou e mediou o I Encontro de Editores Independentes (outubro), no Ateliê da Imagem.Em 2017, seu livro ?Riocities? foi selecionado no Fotobookfestival Kassel Dummy Awards, na Alemanha, e no 10x10 AWAKE, dos EUA, e exibido em festivais em Istambul, Lodz, Madrid, Nova York e Pittsburg, entre outros. Participou da ação Que Legado, exposta no Centro Cultural Municipal Oduvaldo Vianna Filho (Castelinho), no Centro Cultural Municipal Sérgio Porto e na Uerj, e finalista do Prêmio Esso na categoria Inovação. Curador da exposição {Livros Possíveis}, no Ateliê da Imagem (2016). Outros projetos selecionados incluem: a exposição multimídia e web-art ?Borges: Obras Completas?, criado com Daniel Temkin, e a vídeo-instalação ?Reading/Readers?. Teve seu trabalho exibido no DUMBO Arts Festival, no 3-LD Media Center, no International Center of Photography e no MoMA P.S.1, em Nova York; e no Centro Cultural Sérgio Porto, Centro Cultural dos Correios e Centro Cultural Justiça Federal, no Rio de Janeiro.

Experienced in the field of Visual Arts, with emphasis on Photography and Printed Art.In January 2019, curated the exhibition "1 + 1> 2", by Ana Rodrigues and João Pereira, in Ateliê da Imagem, and is one of the curators of "Photography, Love and Fight", organized by Felipe Abreu (Revista Old), with projections in Salvador, São Paulo, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro.In 2018, 3 books by {Lp} press - "Mulheres de punho erguido por Marielle" and "Indicadores" (Rony Maltz/Carolina Cattan) and "Elson faz 7.0" (Joaquim Paiva) - were selected at the Festival Zum, from Instituto Moreira Salles; the article "Time in Claudia Andujar's Photobooks" was included in the book Midiateca 2, from the laboratory "Photography, Image and Thought" of ECo / UFRJ; producer of the the URCA photobooks fair for (July) and the FotoRio Resiste photography fair (August); created and produced, with Walter Costa, the performance and exhibition "O Erro, o Rua" (June-August), curated the exhibition "Vitrine 21" (November) and organized and mediated the First Meeting of Independent Publishers (October), in the Ateliê da Imagem.In 2017, his book "Riocities" was selected at the Fotobookfestival Kassel Dummy Awards, Germany, and the 10x10 AWAKE, USA, and screened at festivals in Istanbul, Lodz, Madrid, New York and Pittsburgh, among others. Participated in the action Que Legado, exhibited at the Municipal Cultural Center Oduvaldo Vianna Filho (Castelinho), at the Municipal Cultural Center Sérgio Porto and Uerj, and finalist of the Esso Prize in the Innovation category. {Lp} press edited, amongst others, Joaquim Paiva's book "Farsa Truque Ilusões".Curator of the exhibition {Possible Books}, in Ateliê da Imagem (2016). Other highlighted projects include: the multimedia web-art "Borges: Obras Completas" (borgeslibrary.com), created with Daniel Temkin, and the video-installation "Reading/Readers". His work was shown at the DUMBO Arts Festival, 3-LD Media Center, International Center of Photography, School of Visual Arts and MoMA P.S.1, in New York; and the Sérgio Porto Cultural Center, Cultural Center of the Post Office and the Federal Justice Cultural Center, in Rio de Janeiro.
