BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco - UFPE (1982), MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar (1986) and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology - UMIST (1991). Associated Professor at UFPE, has experience in Chemical Engineering, focusing on Biochemical Processes, acting on the following subjects: Bioethanol, Industrial Enzymes, Bioactive Compounds

é Engenheira Química pela UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE PERNAMBUCO (UFPE), 1982; Mestre em Engenharia Química pela UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE SÃO CARLOS (UFSCar), 1986; e PhD em Engenharia Química pela UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (UMIST), Inglaterra, 1991. Entre 2002-2003, fez estágio pós-doutoral em Engenharia Metabólica no SWISS FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (ETH), Suíça. Entre 2006-2007, foi Professora Visitante do LUND INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (LTH), Suécia. Entre 1994-2022, foi professora do Departamento de Antibióticos da UFPE, onde liderou o Grupo de Pesquisa em Processos Biotecnológicos, atuando, principalmente, nos seguintes temas: biorrefinarias, enzimas industriais e produtos bioativos.
