Gladys Quevedo-Camargo is a graduate of English Language and Literature with a BA in Translation from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), a lato sensu in Applied Linguistics from the same institution, and a Master's and PhD in Language Studies from the State University. of Londrina. She completed two post-doctoral studies (2011/2013 and 2017/2018) in the area of assessment of additional languages at the Institute of Language Studies of the University of Campinas. She has the English Certificate of Proficiency in English (University of Michigan-USA), the Certificate for Overseas Teachers of English (COTE) and the Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (RSA / DELTA) (both from the University of Cambridge-UK). She was an English language teacher at various language institutes, including the Brazil-USA Binational Center (Sorocaba) and Cultura Inglesa (Londrina), and owner of Proficiency English Courses (Londrina) for seven years. She was president of APLIEPAR (Association of English Language Teachers of Paraná) (2000-2002) and professor of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Londrina (2004-2012), where she also served as pedagogical director of the Coordination of Selection Processes (COPS). She was an oral examiner for the Cambridge exams and IELTS. She is currently an associate professor at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation at the Institute of Letters at the University of Brasília (UnB) and vice-director of the Institute. She works at the Post-graduation Program in Applied Linguistics and at the Post-graduation Program in Linguistics (PPGL), both from UnB. She worked at the UnBIdiomas Outreach Permanent Program as general deputy coordinator (2013/2014) and general coordinator (2014/2015). She was pedagogical coordinator of the Languages Without Borders-English Program MEC / CAPES UnB (2014/2015 and 2018/2019) and coordinator of the Post-graduation Program in Applied Linguistics (2018-2019). She is part of the Brazilian Applied Linguistics Association (ALAB), the São Paulo State Linguistic Studies Group (GEL) and BrazTesol, with participation in the Assessment Special Interest Group and the Brasília Regional Chapter. She is also a member of the International Language Testing Association (ILTA) and a founding member of the Latin American Association for Language Testing and Assessment (LAALTA). She is the leader of the research group LALES-Letramentos Acadêmicos en Línguas no Ensino Superior (UnB / CNPq) and a member of the research group FELICE-Teacher education and language teaching to children.
Gladys Quevedo-Camargo é graduada em Letras - Língua e Literaturas Inglesas com bacharelado em Tradução pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), possui Aperfeiçoamento em Linguística Aplicada pela mesma instituição, e mestrado e doutorado em Estudos da Linguagem pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL). Foi professora de língua inglesa em diversos institutos de línguas e proprietária da Proficiency English Courses (Londrina) por sete anos. Foi presidente da APLIEPAR (Associação de professores de língua inglesa do Paraná) (2000-2002) e professora do Departamento de Letras Estrangeiras Modernas da Universidade de Londrina (2004-2012), onde também atuou como diretora pedagógica da Coordenadoria de Processos Seletivos (COPS). Foi examinadora oral para os exames de Cambridge e IELTS. É professora associada do Departamento de Línguas Estrangeiras e Tradução (LET) do Instituto de Letras (IL) da Universidade de Brasília (UnB) e vice-diretora do mesmo Instituto. Está credenciada no Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística Aplicada (PGLA) e no Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística (PPGL), ambos da UnB. Atuou no Programa Permanente de Extensão UnBIdiomas como subcoordenadora geral (2013/2014) e coordenadora geral (2014/2015). Foi coordenadora pedagógica do Programa Idiomas sem Fronteiras-Inglês MEC/CAPES UnB (2014/2015 e 2018/2019) e coordenadora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística Aplicada (PGLA) (2018-2019). Faz parte da Associação de Linguística Aplicada do Brasil (ALAB), do Grupo de Estudos Linguísticos do Estado de São Paulo (GEL) e do BrazTesol, com participação no Assessment Special Interest Group. Também é membro da International Language Testing Association (ILTA) e membro-fundadora da Latin American Association for Language Testing and Assessment (LAALTA). É líder do grupo de pesquisa LALES - Letramentos Acadêmicos em Línguas no Ensino Superior (UnB/CNPq) e membro do grupo de pesquisa FELICE - Formação de professores e ensino de línguas para crianças.
