Lúcio Flávio Macedo Mota

Animal scientist from the Federal University of Alagoas (2012), master's degree (2014) from UFVJM and PhD from UNESP-FCAV (2019). During his PhD, he performed part of his research activities at the Department of Animal Science at the University of Wisconsin. Recent research activities include statistical methods on precision farming tools based on infrared spectroscopy. Has experience genetics and animal breeding with emphasis on genomic selection, genome-wide association study, gene enrichment analysis, integration of genomic information in the evaluation of genotype-environment interaction in beef cattle, genomics aspects of feed efficiency. Recent research activities include statistical methods applied to precision farming and integration of machine learning techniques in genomic selection and phenotype prediction.

Zootecnista formado pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (2012), mestrado (2014) pela UFVJM e doutorado (2019) pela UNESP-FCAV. Durante o doutorado realizou parte de suas atividades de pesquisa no Department of Animal Science - University of Wisconsin. Tem experiência em genética e melhoramento animal com ênfase em seleção genômica, estudo de associação genômica ampla, analise de enriquecimento de genes, integração de informação genomica na avaliação da interação genótipo-ambiente em bovinos de corte. Atividades de pesquisa recentes incluem métodos estatísticos aplicados a agricultura de precisão e integração de técnicas de aprendizado de máquina em seleção genômica e predição de fenótipo
