Angel Ricardo Plastino

I have a PhD in Astronomy from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in Argentina, obtained in 1994. I have been Adjoint Professor at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), Argentina and Full Professor at the University of Pretoria (UP), in South Africa. I am currently Full Professor of the Universidad Nacional del Noroeste de La Província de Buenos Aires (UNNOBA), in Argentina. In several occasions I have been invited Professor at (and collaborated with researchers of) various Universities, including the University of Balearic Islands, Mallorca (Spain), University of Oviedo (Spain), University of Granada (Spain), Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN), Antofagasta (Chile), and the Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Natal (Brasil). I've also been invited researcher at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, CBPF, Rio de Janeiro (Brasil). I have research experience in various branches of physics. This has allowed me to interact and collaborate with scientists working in different fields, establishing connections between these subjects based, in many cases, on the application of ideas and techniques from Information Theory. My research activities led to the publication of more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals. These articles have been cited more than 6000 times (10 of my papers have been cited more than 100 times) leading to an h-index of 37 (Data from ISI Web of Knowledge - Thomson Reuters). My research interests include: Physics of Information, Theory of Quantum Entanglement, Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Physics and Complexity Theory, Biologically Inspired Mathematical Physics, Dynamical Astronomy and Mathematical Aspects of Astronomy, and Physics Education.
