Newton Tércio Netto

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from FMVZ UNESP de Botucatu (1992), Master in Behavior Theory and Research from Universidade Federal do Pará (1997) and PhD in Genetics and Animal Breeding from FCAVJ UNESP de Jaboticabal (2011). He is a Federal Agricultural Auditor of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA). Has experience in Zoology, with emphasis on Ethology, acting on the following subjects: wild animals, ungulates, wildlife management, social behavior and deer. He has already worked at the Federal Inspection Service, following the slaughter of cattle and carrying out post mortem inspection at SIF 1662, having been a focal point of the Permanent Technical Commission on Animal Welfare of MAPA in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Currently based in the Department of Animal Health, he is responsible for the Quarantine Unit of Birds of the Quarantine Station of Cananéia-SP.

Possui graduação em Medicina Veterinaria pela FMVZ UNESP de Botucatu (1992), mestrado em Teoria e Pesquisa do Comportamento pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1997) e Doutorado em Genética e Melhoramento Animal pela FCAVJ UNESP de Jaboticabal (2011). É Auditor Fiscal Federal Agropecuário do Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA). Tem experiência na área de Zoologia, com ênfase em Etologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: animais silvestres, ungulados, gestão de fauna silvestre, comportamento social e cervídeos. Já atuou no Serviço de Inspeção Federal, acompanhando o abate de bovinos e realizando a inspeção post mortem no SIF 1662, tendo sido ponto focal da Comissão Técnica Permanente em Bem-Estar Animal do MAPA no estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Atualmente lotado no Departamento de Saúde Animal, é responsável pela Unidade Quarentenária de Aves da Estação Quarentenária de Cananéia-SP.
