I am graduated in Mathematics from the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), Master's (1992), and Ph.D. in Statistics (1998) both from the University of São Paulo. I am a Full Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Statistics (2021-2023) of the Department of Statistics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I was a member of the ISBRA (Brazilian Section of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA)) board from 2000-2002 and 2006-2008. I was guest editor of the first issue of the Chilean Journal of Statistics and, currently, I am a member of the editorial board of the Bayesian Analysis, Brazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics, and Chilean Journal of Statistics. I was a member (1/2/2012 - 31/1/2015) and President (2-2013 to 2-2014) of the ISBA Prize Committee, elected member of the ISBA Boarding (2014-2016), member of the ISBA nominating Committed (2001, 2019), member of the ISBA Editorial Search Committee (2009) and member of the ISBA Constitution and Bylaws Committee (2020-2025). Recently, I was named as a member of the CEX Chamber of FAPEMIG (2021-2024).
Possui graduação em Matemática pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1988), mestrado (1992) e doutorado em Estatística (1998) ambos pela Universidade de São Paulo. É Professora Titular e Coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estatística(2021-2023) do Departamento de Estatística da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Foi membro diretoria da ISBRA - Seção Brasileira da International Society for Bayesian analysis (ISBA) - gestões 2000-2002 e 2006-2008. Foi guest editor do primeiro número do Chilean Journal of Statistics e atualmente, é membro do corpo editorial dos periódicos Bayesian Analysis, Brazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics e Chilean Journal of Statistics. Foi membro (1/2/2012 - 31/1/2015) e Presidente (2-2013 a 2-2014) do ISBA Prize Committee, membro eleito do ISBA Boarding (2014-2016), membro do ISBA nominating Committed (2001,2019), membro do ISBA Editorial Search Committee (2009) e membro do ISBA Constitution and Bylaws Committee (2020-2025). Membro da Câmara CEX da FAPEMIG (2021-2024).
