Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (1980), master's degree in Phytotechnics (Vegetable Production), with an area of concentration in Entomology, from the Federal University of Viçosa (1985) and doctorate in Entomology from the Federal University of Viçosa (2011), being part of the doctorate held at the Instituto Valenciano de Ivestigaciones Agrarias (IVIA), Valencia, Spain. He is currently a volunteer researcher at the Capixaba Institute for Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Research (Incaper). Has experience in the area of Agricultural Entomology, acting mainly on the following themes: Pest Management and Insect Biodiversity.

Aposentou-se como Pesquisador junto ao Instituto Capixaba de Pesquisa, Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural (Incaper) em 2018. Atualmente é Pesquisador Voluntário do Incaper. Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Entomologia Agrícola, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Manejo de Pragas e Biodiversidade de Insetos.
