Doctor in Ethnography of Musical Practices (PPGM\UNIRIO, 2022, CAPES), she researched three collectives of women musicians in the city of Rio de Janeiro and analyzed their forms of work based on action and work (Hanna Arendt) crossed by the coloniality of gender. Her thesis was considered of great relevance for a rewriting of the history of women in the field of music, bringing an attentive and complemented analysis of popular singing, being nominated for publication by the entire board. Has voice improvement by the Voice Studies Center (CEV-SP) with the Integrated Voice Training (2013). She has a specialization in Music Therapy from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music (2010), a Bachelor's degree in Brazilian Popular Music and a Degree in Music from UNIRIO. \\ she participated in the music workshop of Itiberê Zwarg as a singer for five years at the Pro Arte Music Seminars (2000-2005). For three years she studied with Amélia Rabello the language of samba and choro at Escola Portátil de Música (2008-2011). \\ she has experience in the field of Arts, with an emphasis on "popular singing" and "music and genre".Awarded as Best Performer at the Music Festival of Rádio MEC (2021), nationwide, for the interpretation of her song "O Adeus". She was a finalist in the Music Professionals Award 6 edition in the Jazz Singer category and a semifinalist at the Radio MEC Festival in 2020 with the composition "La Casita". She released her first authorial album, Sementeira, in 2021, sixth in her career.Singer and songwriter active in the Carioca music scene, she was part of the collective of artists "Primavera das Mulheres" from 2016 to 2020 and with it she recorded the homonymous DVD; She was part of Grupo Água Viva from 2006 to 2016, with which she recorded the albums Mundo ao Revés (2012, with the participation of Bibi Ferreira and Itiberê Zwarg) and O Louco (2016). Doutora em Etnografia das Práticas Musicais (PPGM\UNIRIO, 2022, bolsista CAPES), fez sua etnografia sobre três coletivos de mulheres músicas na cidade do Rio de Janeiro e analisou suas formas de trabalho a partir de ação e obra (Hanna Arendt) por meio do conceito de colonialidade de gênero (Maria Lugones), realizando análise feminista e decolonial, incluindo as vocalidades em duas canções. Sua tese foi considerada "de grande relevância para uma reescrita da história das mulheres no campo da música, trazendo análise atenta e complementada sobre canto popular", sendo indicada para publicação por toda a banca. Mestre em Musicologia (PPGM\UNIRIO, 2015, bolsista CAPES), escreveu sobre a trajetória artística e vocal da cantora Elizeth Cardoso. Possui especialização em Musicoterapia pelo Conservatório Brasileiro de Música (2010), Bacharelado em Música Popular Brasileira e Licenciatura em Música pela UNIRIO. \\ Participou da oficina de música de Itiberê Zwarg como cantora durante cinco anos nos Seminários de Música Pro Arte (2000-2006). Durante três anos estudou com Amélia Rabello a linguagem de samba e choro na Escola Portátil de Música (2008-2011). \\ Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em "canto popular" e "música e gênero". Coordena o GT Decolonial da Associação Brasileira de Professores de Canto. Integra o Voz me Livre: grupo de estudos e pesquisa em canto popular, formado também por Anna Paes, André Grabois, Paula Santoro e Suely Mesquita (coordenadora pedagógica). É co-fundadora e integra a coordenação geral do GECANTO - grupo de pesquisa em canto popular (UNIRIO), coordenado pela Prof. Dra. Clara Sandroni. \\ Premiada como Melhor Intérprete no Festival de Música da Rádio MEC (2021), de âmbito nacional, entre mais de mil inscrições. Foi finalista por duas vezes do Prêmio Profissionais da Música - 6 ed. na categoria Jazz Singer, e 7 ed. na categoria autora-sudeste. Lançou seu primeiro álbum autoral, Sementeira, em 2021, o sexto em sua carreira. Cantora e compositora atuante no cenário musical carioca, integrou o coletivo de artistas Primavera das Mulheres de 2016-2020 e com ele gravou o DVD homônimo; o Grupo Água Viva de 2006-2016, com o qual gravou os discos Mundo ao Revés (2012), com participação de Bibi Ferreira e Itiberê Zwarg, e O Louco (2016). Marcela trabalhou na coordenação geral, sendo produtora e curadora do festival e de outros eventos. Produziu o show Todo o Sentimento - Uma homenagem à Elizeth Cardoso, em 2016. É regente, arranjadora e idealizadora do Corallua, roda de cantos e coral feminino, onde integra fundamentos da musicoterapia, yoga, ecofeminismo e pedagogias decoloniais no ensino do canto; e dos corais infantis da Escola Sá Pereira. É idealizadora e curadora do Causos de cantos do Brasil: memória, afeto e cultura, série de conversas em que fomenta trocas sobre expressões de canto popular brasileiro em diferentes contextos (no canal pessoal do Youtube). Marcela Velon é cantora, cantautora, pedagoga vocal, musicoterapeuta, educadora musical, regente, arranjadora vocal, pesquisadora da voz cantada e da produção de mulheres na música.
