Gabriel Macedo Costa Guimarães

Graduado em Ciências Biológicas - Bacharelado em Genética - pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) em 2016 com Graduação Sanduíche pela Arizona State University (ASU) de 2014 a 2015. Foi bolsista de graduação do Programa Ciência sem Fronteiras (CAPES) e realizou estágio no The Cardiovascular Aging Research Laboratory na University of Texas at Austin em 2015. Realizou estágio de iniciação científica na área de terapia gênica no Laboratório de Neurogênese do Instituto de Biofísica Carlos Chagas Filho (IBCCF) da UFRJ entre 2012 e 2016. Mestre em Ciências com ênfase em Genética e Bioquímica pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Biologia Parasitária da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz/FIOCRUZ de 2017 a 2019. Doutor pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Patologia da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal Fluminense/UFF de 2020 a 2022 e, durante o doutorado, atuou no Laboratório Multiusuário de Apoio à Pesquisa em Nefrologia e Ciências Médicas (LAMAP) do Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro (HUAP) da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), em pesquisa sobre a imunopatogênese da COVID-19. Possui experiência na área de biologia molecular, imunologia e imunopatogênese dos vírus Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya e SARS-CoV-2.

Currently is a Doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Fluminense Federal University/UFF from 2020 to 2022 and works at the Multiuser Laboratory for Research Support in Nephrology and Medical Sciences (LAMAP) at the Antônio Pedro University Hospital (HUAP) from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), in research on the immunopathogenesis of COVID-19. Experience in the field of molecular biology, gene therapy, immunology and immunopathogenesis of Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya and SARS-CoV-2 viruses.
