Mellissa Ananias Soler da Silva

She is a researcher at the Embrapa Rice and Beans, in Santo Antonio de Goias. With over 9 years experience working on the management of tropical lowland soils, her research focuses on soil management and conservation with agronomic use of pyrolysed biomass and nitrogen use efficiency (N management with use of sensors measuring greenhouse gases emissions). At Embrapa, she is a Member of the Internal Technical Committee, a member of the editorial body of the Tropical Agricultural Research Journal, and Member of the Local Committee for Sustainable Development Goals. She is a leader in Goiás for the UK-Brazil NUCLEUS Project, a Virtual Joint Centre on Agricultural Nitrogen funded by BBSRC-Newton Fund and Confap (formed by 12 Institutions from Brazil and UK (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nucleus/). She has also worked on current technologies for carbon sequestration in integrated agricultural production systems in the Brazilian Cerrado, strengthening the macauba production chain in the Northeast region of Brazil (with biochar use), and worked on Fourth National Communication of Brazil to The UNFCC (https://issuu.com/mctic/docs/fourth_national_communication_brazil_unfccc). graduation at Agronomia from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001), master's at Soil Science from Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (2003) and doctorate at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de Goiás (2007). He is currently pesquisador a at Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária / CNPAF. Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Soil fertility and fertilization, acting on the following subjects: fertilidade do solo, óxido nitroso, pós-colheita, matéria orgânica and niagara rosada.
