Frederico Tavares Herrmann

Frederico Herrmann holds a PhD degree in Music from the University of Aveiro (Portugal), a Master degree in Musical Performance from the Hochschule Luzern - Music (Switzerland) and a Bachelor of Guitar from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He took part in the Havana Guitar Festival under the guidance of the composer Leo Brouwer, in the 25 ° Stage International Guitare with professor Alberto Ponce (France) and in the festival Tage für Neue Musik Zürich organized by Mats Scheidegger (Switzerland). He worked as a professor at the Music Conservatory of Porto (2014/15), at the School of Music of UFMG (2012/13), at the Musikschule der Stadt Zug (Switzerland, 2010), at the Musikschule Herisau (Switzerland, 2011) and at the Department of Music of UFOP (2008/09), among other institutions. In addition to his academic and artistic career, he has been working as a luthier since 2018, an activity he maintained during the pandemic, and has established himself as one of the main luthiers in Brazil today. He is also curator of the project "violão|intercâmbio", which produces concerts, masterclasses and other musical exchange activities in Belo Horizonte, MG - Brazil.

Frederico Herrmann é Doutor em Música pela Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal), Mestre em Performance Musical pela Hochschule Luzern - Musik (Suíça) e Bacharel em Violão pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Destacam-se sobremaneira suas participações no Festival de la Guitarra de Havana sob curadoria do maestro Leo Brouwer, no 25° Stage international de guitare com o professor Alberto Ponce (França) e no festival Tage für Neue Musik Zürich, à convite de Mats Scheidegger (Suíça). Atuou como professor no Conservatório de Música do Porto (2014/15), na Escola de Música da UFMG (2012/13), na Musikschule der Stadt Zug (Suíça, 2010), na Musikschule Herisau (Suíça, 2011) e no Departamento de Música da UFOP (2008/09), entre outras instituições. Para além de sua trajetória acadêmica e artística, atua como luthier desde 2018 - atividade que manteve durante a pandemia - e vem se firmando como um dos principais luthiers do Brasil na atualidade. Também é curador do projeto violão|intercâmbio, que produz concertos, masterclasses e outras atividades de intercâmbio musical em Belo Horizonte, MG - Brasil.
