Suzana Maria de Sousa Santos Severs

Doutora em História Social (2002) pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em História social do Departamento de História social da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo; mestre em Língua Hebraica, Literatura e Cultura Judaicas pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Língua Hebraica, Literatura e Cultura Judaicas do Departamento de Línguas Orientais da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo (1997), Bacharel em História pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1990) e licenciada em História pela Universidade Católica do Salvador (1986). Desde 2005 é professora adjunta da Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB), atuando tanto na graduação, no curso de Licenciatura em História, como no Programa de Pós-graduação em História Regional e Local, (mestrado acadêmico), o qual esteve sob sua coordenação entre 2008 e 2009. É líder do Grupo de Pesquisa História da América Portuguesa e pesquisadora dos Grupos de Pesquisa Diáspora Atlântica dos Sefarditas (UFS) e Redes Regionais e Locais na História (UNEB). Dedica-se ao estudo da História da América portuguesa, sob o prisma da História social, atuando principalmente nas áreas de história da cultura, religião e religiosidades, concentrando-se na história dos cristãos-novos, marranos e Inquisição ibérica; história moderna e história da Bahia. É autora do livro "Além da exclusão: a convivência entre cristãos-novos e cristãos-velhos na Bahia setecentista", publicado em 2016 pela editora da UNEB; tem publicado artigos sobre o tema Inquisição, alguns disponíveis no site academia.edu.
