Yugo Lima Melo

Doutor em Biologia Vegetal Molecular pela University of Turku (Finlândia; revalidado como Doutor em Botânica pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul) e em Bioquímica (Bioquímica Vegetal) pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (Brasil) (2019) em acordo de co-tutela. Mestre em bioquímica pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (2014). Bacharel em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2011). Tem experiência em fisiologia vegetal, bioquímica, biologia molecular e botânica com ênfase em fotossíntese e metabolismo oxidativo de plantas. Pesquisador de pós-doutorado PNPD-CAPES pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Biologia Celular e Molecular da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul com pesquisas relacionadas ao melhoramento do arroz a diferentes condições de estresses abióticos realizadas nos departamentos de Botânica e Genética. Professor substituto na Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul (campus Erechim-RS), ministrando os componentes de Fisiologia Vegetal, Sistemática Vegetal I, Sistemática Vegetal II e Iniciação à Prática Científica para o curso de Ciências Biológicas e Organografia e Sistemática de Espermatófitos para o curso de Agronomia.

PhD in Molecular Plant Biology from the University of Turku (Finland) and in Biochemistry (Plant Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Ceará (Brazil) under a co-tutelle agreement, with master's degree also in biochemistry from the Federal University of Ceará (2014) and Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2011). He has expertise in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and botany with emphasis in photosynthesis and oxidative stress in plants. Currently, he is a PNPD-CAPES postdoctoral researcher in the Graduate Program in Cell and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul involved in a research project aiming at the improvement of rice plants under different abiotic stress conditions at the Department of Botany and Department of Genetics. Adjunct professor at the Federal University of Fronteira Sul (Erechim-RS campus), teaching the components of Plant Physiology, Plant Systematics I, Plant Systematics II, Initiation to Scientific Practice, and Organography and Systematics of Spermatophytes.
