Professor Dr. Wagner Rodrigues Silva

He holds a Degree in Language Teaching (Portuguese and English) from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), a master's degree, a doctorate in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and a postdoctoral degree in Applied Linguistics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Aswan University (Egypt). During the undergraduate course, she was a Scientific Initiation Scholar (CNPq/PIBIC) for three years. She is a member of the Letters and Linguistics Advisory Committee - CA-LL/CNPq (2021-2024), Full Professor (Class E) and permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Letters, at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). She also works as a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Letters: Teaching Language and Literature, at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins (UFNT). She was a professor at the Professional Master's in Letters (ProfLetras) at UFT. She teaches subjects in the language area at the Degree in Pedagogy, at the Palmas Campus. She is a CNPq productivity fellow (PQ 1D). She is the regional representative (Central-West and Northern regions of Brazil) of the management committee of the Latin American Systemic-Functional Linguistics Association (2017-2020 / 2020-2023). He has experience in Applied Linguistics, working mainly in Literacy Studies, comprising the following contents: teaching grammar, textual genres, literacy, teaching material, curriculum, writing practices, reading practices, teacher training and scientific education. He coordinated the Graduate Program in Letters: Teaching Language and Literature (Master's and Doctorate) for four years. He was a member of the Board of Directors (2016-2017) and of the Advisory Board (2018-2019) of the Association of Applied Linguistics of Brazil (ALAB). He is a member of ALAB, the Brazilian Association of Linguistics (ABRALIN) and the Training of Educators in Applied Linguistics Working Group (ANPOLL).

Possui Licenciatura Plena em Letras (Língua Portuguesa e Inglesa) pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), mestrado, doutorado em Linguística Aplicada pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), e pós-doutorado em Linguística Aplicada pela The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) e pela Aswan University (Egito). Durante o curso de graduação, foi bolsista de Iniciação Científica (CNPq/PIBIC) por três anos. É professor Titular (Classe E) na Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT), Câmpus de Palmas, onde leciona na área de linguagem na Licenciatura em Pedagogia e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras. Foi docente permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras: Ensino de Língua e Literatura, na Universidade Federal do Norte do Tocantins (UFNT). É coordenador do grupo de pesquisa Práticas de Linguagens (PLES) e do Laboratório Virtual de Pesquisa Escolar com Gramática (LabGram). Foi docente do Mestrado Profissional em Letras (ProfLetras), na UFT. É bolsista de produtividade do CNPq (PQ 1D), membro do Comitê de Assessoramento de Letras e Linguística - CA-LL/CNPq (2021-2024) e segundo secretário da Gestão 2023-2025, Pluralizar e Democratizar, da Associação de Linguística Aplicada do Brasil (ALAB). É representante regional (Regiões Centro-Oeste e Norte do Brasil) da comissão gestora da Associação de Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional da América Latina (2017-2020/2020-2023). Tem experiência na área de Linguística Aplicada, atuando principalmente nos Estudos do Letramento, compreendendo os seguintes conteúdos: ensino de gramática, gêneros textuais, alfabetização, material didático, currículo, práticas de escrita, práticas de leitura, formação de professores e educação científica. Coordenou o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras: Ensino de Língua e Literatura (Mestrado e Doutorado) durante quatro anos. Foi membro da Diretoria (2016-2017) e do Conselho Consultivo (2018-2019) da ALAB. É membro da ALAB, da Associação Brasileira de Linguística (ABRALIN) e do Grupo de Trabalho Formação de Educadores na Linguística Aplicada (ANPOLL).
