Rafael Plá Matielo Lemos is a Technician in Biotechnology from the Technical School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (ETCUFRGS), Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of the Campanha Region (URCAMP), Master and Doctor in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA). Works in the areas of molecular ecology, population genetics, bioinformatics, Evo-Devo and plant biotechnology. He is currently a Laboratory Technician - Area: Biology at the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA), technical officer and researcher at the Center for the Study of Antarctic Vegetation (NEVA/UNIPAMPA) carrying out brio-technological studies to infer about the evolution of genes responsive to abiotic stress. , genomics, transcriptomics and heterologous expression in mosses from Antarctica.

Atua nas áreas de ecologia molecular, genética de populações, bioinformática, Evo-Devo e biotecnologia vegetal. Atualmente é Técnico em Laboratório - Área: Biologia da Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA), responsável técnico e pesquisador do Núcleo de Estudos da Vegetação Antártica (NEVA/UNIPAMPA) realizando estudos brio-tecnológicos visando inferir acerca da evolução de genes responsivos ao estresse abiótico, genômica, transcriptômica e expressão heteróloga em musgos da Antártica.
