Gustavo Coelho Lopes

Doctor graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). During the graduation he was a fellow of scientific initiation by the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) for two years. He has worked in three research projects in the areas of neurosurgery and medical education, presented several works in academic journeys and posters in scientific congresses. He participated actively in the political life of his Faculty, where he assumed the position of Coordinator of International Relations of the Academic Directory of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the UFMG (DA-ICB). He completed internships in the emergency and emergency area in hospitals of the FHEMIG Network of the State Government of Minas Gerais. Has international experience by means of Internship of Surgery carried out in the service of Neurosurgery at the Université de Rouen in France. He participated in artistic activities and was a member of the amateur theater group of the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG: Show Medicina. After completing his medical school, he became a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences by the Department of Physiology and Biophysics of the UFMG (Capes 7), with emphasis on neurophysiology, at the Nucleus of Neurosciences (NNC) of UFMG, with FAPEMIG Research of the State of Minas Gerais). During this period he also became a Specialist in Traffic Medicine at the Lucas Machado Foundation (FELUMA), with the development of a prototype of a Drowsiness Monitor Device for drivers (in the process of patenting) as a Course Completion Work. He currently works as an emergency physician at the Felício Rocho Hospital and Vila da Serra Hospital in Belo Horizonte. He is interested in experimental technological research applied in medicine. Currently focused on training in ophthalmology care with interest in following technical-scientific careers.

Médico graduado pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Durante a graduação foi bolsista de iniciação científica pelo Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) por dois anos. Trabalhou em três projetos de pesquisa nas áreas de neurocirurgia e educação médica, apresentou trabalhos diversos em jornadas acadêmicas e pôsteres em congressos científicos. Participou ativamente da vida política de sua Faculdade, onde assumiu cargo de Coordenador de Relações Internacionais do Diretório Acadêmico do Instituto de Ciências Biológicas da UFMG (DA-ICB). Realizou estágios na área de urgência e emergência em hospitais da Rede FHEMIG do Governo do Estado de Minas Gerais. Possui experiência internacional por meio de Internato de Cirurgia realizado no serviço de Neurocirurgia na Université de Rouen na França. Participou de atividades artísticas sendo integrante do grupo de teatro amador da Faculdade de Medicina da UFMG: Show Medicina. Após conclusão do curso de medicina, tornou-se Mestre em Ciências Biológicas pelo Departamento de Fisiologia e Biofísica da UFMG (Capes 7), com ênfase em neurofisiologia, no Núcleo de Neurociências (NNC) da UFMG, sendo bolsista FAPEMIG (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais). Neste período também tornou-se Especialista em Medicina de Tráfego pela Fundação Lucas Machado (FELUMA), com desenvolvimento de um protótipo de um dispositivo Monitor de Sonolência para Motoristas (em processo de patenteamento) como Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso. Em 2019 concluiu especialização em oftalmologia na Fundação Hilton Rocha em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, sendo aprovado no exame de Título de Especialista do Conselho Brasileiro de Oftalmologia em 2018. Realiza subespecialização em Cirurgia Refrativa e Ceratocone pela Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte-MG. Tem interesse por pesquisa tecnológica experimental aplicada em medicina. Atualmente focado na formação em oftalmologia assistencial com interesse em seguir carreira técnico-científica.
