Yuri Lima Melo

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2010). Former intern (researcher) of the Agricultural Research Company of Rio Grande do Norte (EMPARN) (2007-2009). A master's degree in Plant Science (Tropical Agriculture) for the Rural Federal University of Semiarid (UFERSA) (2012). Former Professor Substitute Teaching Superior of Cell Biology and Molecular discipline of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2015). He is currently a PhD student at the Federal Rural University of the Semiarid (UFERSA) and also CAPES Scholarship. Integral member of the University of Plant Physiology Laboratory of Havana (Cuba) at the International Cooperation Project CAPES / MES - Cuba 141/11 (2012-2013). Integral member of the Environmental Stresses Research Base in Plants and Biotechnological Applications (CB-UFRN) and the Laboratory for Plant Biotechnology (CB-DBG-UFRN). He has teaching experience in General Biology with an emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology and experience in research in the Plant Science area, with an emphasis on biotechnology, plant physiology and gene expression.

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2010), Mestrado (2012) e Doutorado (2016) em Fitotecnia-Agronomia (Agricultura Tropical) pela Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA), foi bolsista PNPD-CAPES do Mestrado de Ciências Agrárias da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB) (2016 - 2021). Atualmente atua como professor de nível superior da Universidade Potiguar (UNP) (2022). Membro integrante da Base de Pesquisa de Estresses Ambientais em Plantas e Aplicações Biotecnológicas (CB-UFRN), do Grupo de Pesquisas e Estudos em Biotecnologia da Produção Vegetal no Semiárido (BIOPROVESA/CNPq) e da Sociedade Científica do Semiárido Brasileiro (SCSB). Membro integrante do Laboratório de Fisiologia Vegetal da Universidad de La Habana (CAPES/MES - Cuba 141/11), do Laboratório de Estudos em Biotecnologia Vegetal (CB-DBG-UFRN), do Laboratório de Tecnologias da Produção Vegetal (LAPROV) e do Laboratório de Ecofisiologia de Plantas Cultivadas (ECOLAB-UEPB). Tem experiência em pesquisas na área da fitotecnia e agronomia, ecofisiologia vegetal, bioquímica e biologia molecular de plantas, com ênfase em estresses abióticos (salinidade e deficit hídrico), metabolismo osmoprotetor, antioxidante e fotossintético, além da utilização de substâncias eliciadoras indutoras de tolerância ao estresse.
