Ricardo Vilela Abdelnoor

Pesquisador da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (EMBRAPA) desde 1994, atuando na área de Genética Molecular e Genômica de Soja. Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa e doutorado em Agronomia (Genética e Melhoramento) pela University of Nebraska, Estados Unidos, em 2004. No decorrer de sua carreira, o Pesquisador tem sido uma figura proeminente em sua área de pesquisa na cultura da soja. Seu domínio na área o levou a liderar importantes projetos de pesquisa, dentre os quais destacam-se o "Plataforma Tecnológica para o Manejo Integrado da Ferrugem Asiática da Soja" (FINEP 2004-2009) e o "GENOSOJA - Consórcio Nacional para Estudos do Genoma da Soja" (CNPq 2007-2012), ambos com caráter multi-institucional e relevância estratégica para o setor agrícola.Atualmente é Professor credenciado do programa de Genética e Biologia Molecular da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL), tendo orientado e co-orientado estudantes de mestrado e doutorado na referida universidade. Também atua como co-orientador na Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), UNESP-Jaboticabal e Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM). No âmbito internacional, coordenou por cinco anos a Plataforma "Genômica Funcional" do PROCISUR, e atuou como membro do Consórcio Internacional do Genoma da Soja e como membro eleito do Soybean Genetics Committee (2009-2012). Devido sua experiência no projeto GENOSOJA, foi convidado a colaborar em uma iniciativa semelhante no Canadá, o projeto SOYAGEN (2015-2019). Em 2009 foi eleito para o "Continuing Committee" da Conferência Mundial de Pesquisa de Soja (World Soybean Research Conference) para o período de 2009-2023, sendo que em 2013 foi escolhido como Presidente deste comitê para o período de 2013-2023, culminando com a XI Conferência Mundial de Pesquisa de Soja, realizada em Viena, Áustria, em 2023.Foi também Presidente da Comissão Organizadora do VI Congresso Brasileiro de Soja (CBSoja 2012) e membro da Comissão Técnica Nacional de Biossegurança (CTNBIO) de 2012 a 2014. Na área de gestão, atuou como Secretário Executivo do Comitê Técnico Interno (CTI) da Embrapa Soja, de 2010 a 2013 e de 2013 a 2020 foi o Chefe Adjunto de Pesquisa Desenvolvimento da Embrapa Soja, período em que também foi membro da Câmara Setorial da Cadeia Produtiva da Soja, vinculada ao Ministério da Agricultura

Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) since 1994, working in the field of Molecular Genetics and Genomics of Soybeans. Holds a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa and a Ph.D. in Agronomy (Genetics and Breeding) from the University of Nebraska, United States, in 2004.Throughout his career, the Researcher has been a prominent figure in the soybean research field. His expertise in the area has led him to lead important research projects, among which the "Technological Platform for the Integrated Management of Asian Soybean Rust" (FINEP 2004-2009) and the "GENOSOJA - National Consortium for Soybean Genome Studies" (CNPq 2007-2012) stand out, both being multi-institutional projects of strategic relevance for the agricultural sector.Currently, he is an accredited Professor in the Genetics and Molecular Biology program at the State University of Londrina (UEL), where he has supervised and co-supervised master's and doctoral students. He also serves as a co-supervisor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), UNESP-Jaboticabal, and State University of Maringá (UEM).Internationally, he coordinated the "Functional Genomics" Platform of PROCISUR for five years and served as a member of the International Soybean Genome Consortium and the elected member of the Soybean Genetics Committee (2009-2012). Due to his experience with the GENOSOJA project, he was invited to collaborate on a similar initiative in Canada, the SOYAGEN project (2015-2019). In 2009, he was elected to the "Continuing Committee" of the World Soybean Research Conference for the period 2009-2023, and in 2013, he was chosen as the President of this committee for the period 2013-2023, culminating with the organization of the XI World Soybean Research Conference held in Vienna, Austria, in 2023.He also served as the President of the Organizing Committee of the VI Brazilian Soybean Congress (CBSoja 2012) and was a member of the National Biosafety Technical Commission (CTNBIO) from 2012 to 2014. In the field of management, he worked as the Executive Secretary of the Internal Technical Committee (CTI) of Embrapa Soybean from 2010 to 2013, and from 2013 to 2020, he was the Deputy Head of Research Development at Embrapa Soybean, during which time he was also a member of the Sector Chamber of the Soybean Production Chain, linked to the Ministry of Agriculture.
