Commercial Law Professor. Ph.D. candidate in Commercial Law at the University of São Paulo. Master's degree in International Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2017). Completed post-graduation in Business Administration at the Getulio Vargas Foundation of São Paulo - FGV/SP (2006) (CEAG), with a focus on Financial Markets and Banking. Graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2003).Founding partner of S.DS Advogados. Renato Scardoa is a lawyer specializing in Business Structuring and Corporate Restructuring, with experience in large law firms as well as in the legal departments of multinational companies, including serving as International Legal Counsel in a multinational American company in California. He currently provides legal consulting services in cases of corporate restructuring in insolvency situations, including collective creditor renegotiations, debt reprofiling, judicial and extrajudicial recovery, as well as in operations and contracts involving heavily indebted parties.Renato Scardoa was part of the Working Group of the Thematic Committee for Rationalization of the Special Secretariat for Productivity, Employment, and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy, which drafted the text that gave rise to the Entrepreneurship Legal Framework Project (PLP 33/2020), and is currently a member of the technical team of the Federal Senate for the Commercial Code Reform.He is a member of the Judicial Recovery Committee of the IASP (São Paulo Lawyers' Institute) and the Bankruptcy Law Committee of IBRADEMP (Brazilian Institute of Business Law). He is an External Special Consultant of the Legislative Affairs Committee of OAB/RJ (Brazilian Bar Association - Rio de Janeiro Section) and an advisor to the Instituto Millenium.He is the author of the book "The Obligation of Best Efforts: An analysis in light of Anglo-Saxon law and its application in Brazil" and has written several articles

Possui graduação em Direito pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2003). Sócio fundador de S.DS Advogados. Advogado especialista em Estruturação de Negócios e Reestruturação de Empresas, Renato Scardoa teve experiência em escritórios de advocacia de grande porte, bem como em departamento jurídico de empresas multinacionais, incluindo atuação na Califórnia como International Legal Counsel em empresa multinacional americana. Atualmente também atua na prestação de consultoria jurídica em casos de reestruturação de empresas em situação de insolvência, abrangendo renegociação coletiva de credores, reperfilamento de dívida, recuperação judicial e extrajudicial, bem como em operações e contratos envolvendo partes com alto grau de endividamento.Renato Scardoa fez parte do Grupo de Trabalho do Comitê Temático de Racionalização da Secretaria Especial de Produtividade, Emprego e Competitividade do Ministério da Economia que elaborou o texto que deu origem ao Projeto de Marco Legal do Reempreendedorismo (PLP 33/2020), e atualmente é integrante da equipe técnica do Senado Federal para Reforma do Código Comercial. Membro da Comissão de Recuperação Judicial do IASP e da Comissão de Direito Falimentar do IBRADEMP. Consultor Externo Especial da Comissão de Assuntos Legislativos da OAB/RJ.
