Ronaldo Mota
RONALDO MOTA is the Director-Secretary of the Brazilian Academy of Education. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo, a Master's degree from the Federal University of Bahia, a Doctorate from the Federal University of Pernambuco, and has completed Post-Doctoral research at the Universities of Utah in the United States and British Columbia in Canada.
Prior to his current position, he served as the Chancellor and Executive Director of Distance Education at the Estácio Group, Rector of Estácio de Sá University, and held the position of Full Professor of Physics at the Federal University of Santa Maria. Additionally, he was recognized as a CNPq Level 1 Researcher in Modeling and Simulation in Materials Science. He also held the esteemed title of "Professorial Visiting Fellow" at the Institute of Education of the University of London in the United Kingdom.
In the realm of government service, Ronaldo Mota has held significant positions such as the National Secretary for Technological Development and Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Secretary for Higher Education, the National Secretary for Distance Education, and even assumed the role of Acting Minister of the Ministry of Education.
Ronaldo Mota's contributions have been recognized and acknowledged by the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil, where he was honored with the Commander rank in the Grand Cross Class of the National Order of Scientific Merit.
Furthermore, Ronaldo Mota's expertise was sought after internationally. He was invited to participate in the 2019 evaluation process of the Beijing Institute of Technology/BIT and the Institute Nankai of Tianjin University, showcasing the global recognition of his knowledge and experience.

Anteriormente, foi Chanceler e Diretor Executivo de Educação a Distância do Grupo Estácio, Reitor da Universidade Estácio de Sá, Professor Titular de Física da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria e Pesquisador Nível 1 do CNPq em Modelagem e Simulação em Ciência dos Materiais, "Professorial Visiting Fellow" no Instituto de Educação da Universidade de Londres/Reino Unido, Secretário Nacional de Desenvolvimento Tecnológico e Inovação do Ministério de Ciência e Tecnologia, Secretário Nacional de Educação Superior, Secretário Nacional de Educação a Distância e Ministro Interino do Ministério da Educação . Condecorado pela Presidência da República do Brasil como Comendador, na Classe Grã-Cruz, da Ordem Nacional do Mérito Científico.
