Andre Rodrigues dos Reis is Professor of Plant Physiology at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. He got his PhD from Waseda University, Tokyo-Japan. Reis research program focuses mainly in develop new techniques to elucidate the physiology mechanisms underlying phytonutrient biosynthesis and nutrient metabolism aiming genetic and agronomic biofortification of edible crops. The goal of his research is to improve the nutritional quality and health-promoting chemical properties of crops. In addition, Reis is very interested to study the role of micronutrients such as B, Co, Mo, Ni, Se, Zn and Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria on crop physiology and yield.
He was Visiting Professor at Cornell University (USA), University of Nottingham (UK), University of Birmingham (UK), Ghent University (Belgium) and worked as Assistant Professor at Waseda University (Japan).
