Beatriz Diogo Tavares

Currently, I am a visiting researcher at the Centre for Latin American Studies at the University of Copenhagen, and I work as a Portuguese teacher in the project Portugisisk Undervisning for Børn. I hold a Ph.D. degree in Literature, Culture and Contemporaneity (PUC-Rio), a Master's degree in Visual Arts (UFRJ) and a Bachelor's degree in Communications, specialized in Cinema (UFF). During my Ph.D. course, I was also associated with the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies at the University of Copenhagen as a visiting scholar. My background includes a course in Performing Arts (UNIRIO) as well. Having an interdisciplinary education, with emphasis on performance, literature, cultural studies, contemporary art and media, I develop research and artistic creation focusing on the relations between art and politics, art and cities, poetry and performance, writing and body, with particular interest in actions in public spaces and collective processes of creation. Besides my teaching and research practice, I have a large experience as a proofreader, poet, performer and actress, and collective works with the performance group Atrizes ou... and the poetry group Madame Kaos (with the stage name Beatriz Provasi).

Doutora em Literatura, Cultura e Contemporaneidade (PUC-Rio), Mestra em Artes Visuais (UFRJ) e bacharel em Comunicação Social, com Habilitação em Cinema (UFF). Professora de português como língua de herança no projeto Portugisisk Undervisning for Børn, na Dinamarca. Foi pesquisadora visitante no Centro de Estudos Latino-Americanos da Universidade de Copenhague (2019-2020), também foi ligada ao Departamento de Artes e Estudos Culturais da Universidade de Copenhague com bolsa-sanduíche de doutorado e cursou graduação em Artes Cênicas (UNIRIO). Tem formação interdisciplinar, com ênfase em performance, literatura, estudos culturais, arte contemporânea e mídia. Desenvolve pesquisa e criação artística com foco nas relações entre arte e política, arte e cidades, poesia e performance, escrita e corpo, com particular interesse em ações em espaços públicos e processos coletivos de criação. Além de atuar como professora e pesquisadora, tem experiência como revisora, poeta, performer e atriz, e trabalhos coletivos com o grupo de performance Atrizes ou... e o grupo de poetas Madame Kaos (com o nome artístico Beatriz Provasi).
