Denise Dantas

Docente em regime de dedicação exclusiva na Universidade de São Paulo, atuando no Curso de Design da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo. Orientadora de Mestrado e Doutorado do programa de Pós-graduação em Design na mesma instituição, atualmente vice-coordenadora do PPG Design. Coordenadora do LabDesign FAU USP, que gerencia a rede Materialize - acervo de materiais para o design e arquitetura,uma rede interuniversitária em parceria com a UFES, UFRN, e a Materioteca (Politecnico di Milano). Líder do grupo de pesquisa "Design em Ação: grupo de pesquisa sobre design e seus contextos contemporâneos", coordena projetos de pesquisa com ênfase em processos centrados no humano, com temas ligados ao design inclusivo, design participativo, inovação e indústria 4.0, materiais para o design e design para a biodiversidade. Doutora pela FAU USP na área de Design Centrado no Usuário, tendo feito também Mestrado na mesma instituição na área de Tecnologia /Embalagem. Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de São Paulo (1986) e especialização em Industrial Design pela Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano (1990).

I am a full-time faculty member at the University of São Paulo, where I am actively involved in the Design Program within the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. Additionally, I have the privilege of serving as an advisor for both Master's and Ph.D. students in the Design Postgraduate Program at our esteemed institution. Currently, I hold the esteemed position of vice-coordinator in the PPG Design department.Outside my academic responsibilities, I am honored to coordinate the LabDesign FAU USP, which oversees the Materialize networka collaboration that comprises a comprehensive collection of materials for design and architecture in partnership with UFES, UFRN, and Materioteca (Politecnico di Milano).As a dedicated researcher, I lead the highly-regarded "Design in Action" research group, focusing on exploring design's contemporary contexts and human-centered processes. My areas of expertise encompass inclusive design, participatory design, innovation, industry 4.0, materials for design, and design for biodiversity.I hold a distinguished Ph.D. from FAU USP, specializing in User-Centered Design, and have previously completed a Master's degree in Technology/Packaging at the same institution. My educational journey commenced with a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the prestigious University of São Paulo in 1986, followed by a notable specialization in Industrial Design from the esteemed Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano in 1990.
