Daniel Ortins Salerno

I am graduated in Linguistics from the University of São Paulo (2003). I have concluded my graduation filling up my curriculum with credits from the Psychology Department of the same university. As of the start of my career as a foreign language teacher I have a strong interest in the cognitive aspects underlying the foreign language acquisition, so much so that I took up the masters course in Psychology of Learning in the same university. I got a Master of Sciences degree in Educational Psychology and Human Development Psychology and was awarded with CAPES scholarship which I finished within the 2 years defined by the Institution. Doctoral student at the Institute of Psychology USP - Research: Processing Instruction and Acquisition of Syntactic Structures of English as L2 by Brazilians under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fraulein Vidigal de Paula. I took part as an author and presenter of the Ireland International Educational Congress in 2014 and was shortlisted to present an article based on the presentation. the article is listes in my Cv and was published in2014. I am interest in implicit learning and input processing in second language acquisition, especially the online processing of grammatical words and word order issues in form-meaning connections. I have 22 years of experience in teaching English and Portuguese as a Foreign Language. I am a fluent user of 4 foreign languages and read two scandinavian languages fairly well, namely Swedish and Danish. Member of the Research Group "Process of Cognition, Language and Culture under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Fraulein Vidigal de Paula. At the moment, I am taking a 6-month internship programme at the University of Cambridge, UK under the supervision of Dr. John N. Williams.

Possui doutorado e mestrado em Psicologia Escolar e do Desenvolvimento Humano pela Universidade de São Paulo (2019 e 2014).Tem graduação em Letras - Linguística pela Universidade de São Paulo (2003). Atualmente atua como coordenador dos cursos de idiomas e como professor na Volvo Cars Brasil para português, inglês e espanhol. Foi aluno visitante da Universidade Cambridge sob a supervisão do Dr. John. N. Williams entre 2016 e 2017. Tem experiência na área de ensino de Psicologia, tendo atuado como estagiário do Programa da Pós Graduação do Departamento de Psicologia da Aprendizagem no curso de graduação na disciplina Psicologia da Aprendizagem no ano de 2018 sob a supervisão das Professoras Fraulein Vidigal de Paula (orientadora) e Maria Isabel Leme (titular da Disciplina). Foi bolsista da CAPES nos programas, de Mestrado e Doutorado. Participou de três congressos de Aprendizagem de Língua Estrangeira, na Irlanda (2014), na Inglaterra (2017) e na Suécia (2019), tendo exposto pesquisa de mestrado e doutorado como palestrante no primeiro evento e como autor de poster nos dois mais recentes. Interessado na aprendizagem implícita de estruturas sintáticas e de vocabulário por meio de vídeo-games e jogos interativos, conduziu pesquisas em escolas públicas do ensino fundamental e institutos de ensino de língua inglesa. Pesquisou a aprendizagem em faixas etárias tão variadas quanto crianças de 11 a 12 anos e adultos de 18 a 37 anos.
