Thaís Maira Machado de Sá

I'm graduated in Languages: linguistics and litterature at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2010), and I have a PhD (2017) in Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics with an emphasis on Language Processing at POSLIN/UFMG, with a partial period at the University of Rochester. I have professional experience in teaching Portuguese and linguistics at school, undergrad and grad school levels. I am currently part of the ABRALIN Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics committee. In two postdoctoral stages (2019 and 2022), I have developed a Brazilian Portuguese VLT, as a proficiency measure for speakers of Portuguese as an additional language, and other tests that allow exploring the measurement of lexical and lemmatic interactions in late learners of Portuguese as a second language. I have research experience in Linguistics, with emphasis on Psycholinguistics, working mainly on the following topics: Libras, Bilingualism, Defined Noun Expression, Experimental Design and Language Processing.

Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2010), doutorado (2017) em Linguística teórica e descritiva com ênfase em Processamento da linguagem no POSLIN/UFMG, com período sanduíche na Universtity of Rochester. Tem experiência profissional no ensino de língua portuguesa e linguística nos níveis básico, superior e na pós-graduação. Atualmente faz parte da Comissão de psicolinguística e neurolinguística da ABRALIN. Em dois estágios pós-doutorais (2019 e 2022), desenvolveu um teste de amplitude lexical do português brasileiro como medida de proficiência para falantes de português como língua adicional e outros testes que permitem explorar a mensuração de interações lexêmicas e lemáticas em aprendizes tardios do português como segunda língua. Tem experiência de pesquisa na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Psicolinguística, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: libras, bilinguismo, expressão nominal definida, desenho experimental e processamento da linguagem.
