Joachim Steffen has a doctorate from Christian-Albrechts Universitaet zu Kiel (2006). From 2011 to 2013 he worked as a postdoc researcher at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul with a Feodor Lynen scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2015 he he obtained his Habilitation at the Christian-Albrechts Universitaet zu Kiel (2006). He has experience in Linguistics of the Romance Languages, focusing on Sociolinguistic and Dialectology. Since 2018 he is a Full Professor at the University of Augsburg, Germany.
Possui doutorado da Christian-Albrechts Universitaet zu Kiel (2006). De 2011 a 2013 foi professor pesquisador na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, com uma bolsa Feodor Lynen da Fundação Alexander von Humboldt e concluiu um trabalho de posdoc. Em 2015 obteve o título de livre docência (Habilitation) na Christian-Albrechts Universitaet zu Kiel (2006). Tem experiência na área de Lingüística Românica, com ênfase em Sociolingüística e Dialetologia. Desde 2018 é Professor Catedrático na Universidade de Augsburgo, Alemanha.
