Doutor em Ciências - Biologia da Relação Patógeno Hospedeiro - (2017) pela Universidade de São Paulo - USP. Mestre em Ciências da Saúde (2012) e graduado em Farmácia com habilitação em Análises Clínicas (2010) pela Universidade Federal do Maranhão - UFMA (2010). Atualmente, é professor Adjunto IV do Campus Imperatriz (CCIm) da UFMA, atuando no Curso de Medicina desde 2014 e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Saúde e Tecnologia (PPGST) desde 2019, sendo também Vice-Coordenador. Coordena o Laboratório de Fisiopatologia e Investigação Terapêutica (LaFIT), onde desenvolve projetos de pesquisa e inovação voltados para o desenvolvimento de produtos farmacêuticos, cosméticos e alimentícios, tanto naturais quanto sintéticos, com propriedades antileishmania, anti-inflamatória, antioxidante, cicatrizante e fotoprotetora. Além disso, coordena projetos de extensão que buscam promover divulgação e popularização da ciência. Tem diversos projetos de PD aprovados por agências de fomentos e orienta e coorienta alunos de doutorado, mestrado e graduação.É membro do Colegiado do PPGST (2019 a atual), da Câmara de Assessoramento da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Maranhão - FAPEMA (2022 a atual), da Comissão de Acompanhamento da Gestão do Patrimônio Genético e Conhecimento Tradicional Associado da UFMA (2022 a atual), da Comissão Institucional PIBITI/UFMA (2023 a atual), do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da UFMA/CCIm (2023 a atual) e da Comissão de Avaliação Docente do Curso de Medicina/UFMA/CCIm (2023 a atual).
I hold a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, specializing in Host-Pathogen Relationships, obtained in 2017 from the University of São Paulo - USP. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in Health Sciences (2012) and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, with a focus on Clinical Analysis (2010), both from the Federal University of Maranhão - UFMA.Currently, I am an Associate Professor at the CCIm Campus of UFMA, specifically in the Medicine Program since 2014 and in the Health and Technology Graduate Program (PPGST) since 2019, where I also serve as the Vice-Coordinator. My role includes heading the Laboratory of Pathophysiology and Therapeutic Investigation (LaFIT), where I lead research and innovation projects related to the development of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food products. These projects focus on both natural and synthetic substances with anti-leishmania, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, wound healing, and photoprotective properties. Additionally, I coordinate extension projects aimed at promoting the dissemination and popularization of science. I have received funding approval for several RD projects and provide guidance to doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students as their advisor or co-advisor.In terms of my involvement in academic committees and institutions, I am a member of the PPGST Board (2019 to present), the Assessment Chamber of the Maranhão State Research Support Foundation - FAPEMA (2022 to present), the Commission for Monitoring Genetic Heritage Management and Associated Traditional Knowledge at UFMA (2022 to present), the Institutional PIBITI/UFMA Committee (2023 to present), the Research Ethics Committee of UFMA/CCIm (2023 to present), and the Faculty Evaluation Committee of the Medicine Program/UFMA/CCIm (2023 to present).
