Denis Silva da Silveira

Denis Silva da Silveira is an associate professor in the Department of Management at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in northeastern Brazil. He received his PhD in Production Engineering (2009) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and did postdoctoral research at the New University of Lisbon (2015/2016). Before becoming a professor, he worked in the software industry for more than 10 years (as a developer and consultant). His research interests include business process management, information systems architecture, conceptual modelling, semantic models, and user models. He has participated in international research projects and has authored more than 180 papers in journals, conferences, workshops, and book chapters. In 2013 and 2014, he was the leader of Information Systems Development in the Information Management Division of the National Association of Postgraduation and Research in Administration (ANPAD / Brazil). He currently serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling and the Journal of Advances in Management Sciences & Information Systems. He is also a member of several programme committees of scientific conferences, such as the International Symposium on Business Modelling and Software Design (BMSD), and regularly reviews scientific articles in other prestigious journals.
