Edgard Antonio Ferreira

Graduated in Chemistry (Bachelor?s and Licentiate) from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2006), Master?s in Organic Chemistry (Chemistry of Natural Products) from the Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo (2009) and Doctorate in Organic Chemistry (Organic Synthesis and Biocatalysis) from the Center for Natural and Human Sciences of the Federal University of ABC (2014) with a Sandwich doctorate period from the Johannes Gutenberg Universitat Mainz in Germany, in 2013. He is currently an assistant professor of the chemistry course at the School of Engineering at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, working in the field of Chemistry of Natural Products, working mainly on the isolation, characterization and structural modification of bioactive compounds from aquatic macrophytes, especially those with antiparasitic activity. Possui graduação em Química (Bacharelado e Licenciatura) pela Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2006), Mestrado em química orgânica (química de produtos naturais) pelo Instituto de Química da Universidade de São Paulo (2009) e Doutorado em química orgânica (síntese orgânica e biocatálise) pelo Centro de Ciências Naturais e Humanas da Universidade Federal do ABC (2014) com período de doutorado Sanduíche pela Johannes Gutenberg Universitat Mainz na Alemanha, em 2013. Atualmente é professor assistente I dos cursos de química e engenharia de materiais da Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie com atuação na área de Química dos Produtos Naturais, trabalhando principalmente no isolamento, caracterização e modificação estrutural de compostos bioativos de macrófitas aquáticas, principalmente aqueles com atividade antiparasitária.
