Especialista em Direito Processual Civil pela PUC-PR (2004) e Mestre (2007) e Doutor (2012) em Direitos Difusos e Coletivos pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Visiting Scholar do Environmental Law Program da Pace Law School (White Plains/NY), de janeiro a abril de 2012, tendo sido Bolsista do PDSE da CAPES no período. Scholar in Residence de Global Environmental Constitutionalism Program da Widener University Delaware Law School (2015). Pós-Doutor (2014-2017) pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência Jurídica da Universidade do Vale do Itajaí. Ex-Presidente da Comissão do Meio Ambiente da OAB/SC (2007?2009 e 2010-2012), membro da Comissão Nacional de Direito Ambiental do Conselho Federal da OAB, da Comissão Permanente de Direito Ambiental do Instituto dos Advogados Brasileiros - IAB, Presidente da Comissão de Meio Ambiente do Instituto dos Advogados de Santa Catarina - IASC e do Comitê de Direito Ambiental do Centro de Estudos sobre Sociedades de Advogados, Seccional de Santa Catarina - CESA/SC. Professor Visitante dos Cursos de Mestrado e Doutorado do Instituto Universitario del Agua y de las Ciências Ambientales da Universidad de Alicante e da Widener University Delaware Law School. Pesquisador em Direito Ambiental e professor designado para lecionar disciplinas em inglês no âmbito do convênio de Dupla Titulação/Diplomação nos níveis de Mestrado e Doutorado entre o Cursos de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Ciência Jurídica ? PPCJ/UNIVALI e a Widener University/Delaware Law School É autor e coordenador de quase trinta obras na área do Direito Ambiental, tendo ainda publicado mais de cem artigos em livros e revistas especializadas, no Brasil e no exterior.
