Silas Klein Cardoso

Historian of Religion\s and Hebrew Bible scholar. Currently, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Old Testament Studies at the University of Bern (CH) in the frame of the research project "Stamp Seals from the Southern Levant" funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF-Sinergia), as a research associate at the Department of Religion Studies at the University of Zurich (CH), and as a visiting lecturer (Lehrbeauftragter) at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Basel (CH). Ph.D. in Religious Studies (summa cum laude, 2019, UMESP), researching the field of ?Literature and Religion in the Biblical World,? with a research scholarship at the Department of Studies of Religion at the University of Zurich (2018-2019, CH). Winner of the ?Capes Thesis Award 2020? for the best doctoral thesis in Sciences of Religion/Theology defended in Brazil in 2019 and the ?CAPES Grand Prix Bertha Koiffmann Becker? for the best doctoral dissertation of the Humanities College of CAPES (Humanities; Applied Social Sciences; Linguistics, Letters and Arts; Interdisciplinary). MA in Religious Studies (summa cum laude, 2015, UMESP), Bachelor in Theology (2013, UMESP), and Social Communication/Advertising and Advertising (2007, UMESP). Member of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), European Association For Biblical Studies (EABS), Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Religionswissenschaft (SGR-SSSR), and Brazilian Association for Biblical Research (ABIB). Research interests: hermeneutics of sacred texts (Hebrew Bible/Old Testament exegesis; iconographic exegesis); material religion; history of religions/comparative religions (southern Levant; ancient Palestine/Israel); theories of media and religion; archaeology and iconography (southern Levantine; miniature art); ancient history and decoloniality.

Atua como pesquisador de pós-doutorado no Instituto de Estudos do Antigo Testamento da Universidade de Berna (Suíça), no contexto do projeto de pesquisa "Stamp Seals from the Southern Levant", financiado pela Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF-Sinergia), como pesquisador associado do Departamento de Estudos da Religião da Universidade de Zurique (Suíça), e como professor convidado (Lehrbeauftragter) na Faculdade de Teologia da Universidade de Basel (Suíça).
