Stefan Schwab

Graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Coimbra (Portugal, 1999), Master's and Doctorate's in Science (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Paraná (2002, 2006). Currently, he works as a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - National Center for Research in Agrobiology (Embrapa Agrobiology), Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro state, since 2007; he is president of the Internal Biosafety Commission (CIBio). His line of research covers plant microbiota, seeking to understand its role and performance, and thus use it in favor of sustainable agriculture and cattle-breeding. Integrates the Faculty of the Binational Doctoral Program in Science, Technology and Innovation in Agriculture (PPGCTIA), Associated Centers UFRRJ - UFRC (Argentina).

Possui graduação em Bioquímica pela Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal, 1999), mestrado e doutorado em Ciências (Bioquímica) pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2002, 2006). Atualmente, trabalha como pesquisador da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária - Centro Nacional de Pesquisa de Agrobiologia (Embrapa Agrobiologia), Seropédica-RJ, desde 2007; é presidente da Comissão Interna de Biossegurança (CIBio). Sua linha de pesquisa abrange a microbiota vegetal, buscando compreender seu papel e sua atuação, e assim utilizá-la em prol de uma agropecuária sustentável. Integra o Corpo Docente do Programa Binacional de Doutorado em Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação em Agropecuária (PPGCTIA), Centros Associados UFRRJ - UFRC (Argentina).
