Fernando Passold

Degree in Electronical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1989), Master's degree in Electronical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1995) and Ph.D. in Electronical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003) with the theme: Position Control and Force of a Manipulator Robot (Using MLP and RBF neural networks; online training). He is currently Titular Professor III (part-time since 2019) and has been at the University of Passo Fundo since 1995. Between August/2008 and February/2010 he worked as a full-time associate professor at the Facultad de Ingenieria Eléctrica at the Potificia Catholic University of Valparaiso (PUCV), Chile. He has published 2 articles in international ISI magazines and more than 28 works in congresses. Co-supervised a master's work (in the area of ​​Mechanical Engineering) involving image processing for robotic welder. He supervised more than 11 graduation works in the area of ​​Electrical Engineering (3 of them at PUCV, Chile), mainly in the area of ​​automatic control, image processing and robotics. Operates in the areas of ​​automatic control, automation and robotics. Current interests are in the areas of: mobile robotics, image processing, deep-learning networks.

Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1989), mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1995) e doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2003) com o tema: Controle de Posição e Força de um Robô Manipulador (Usando redes neurais MLP e RBF; treinamento on-line). Atualmente é professor Titular III (horista) e está na Universidade de Passo Fundo desde 1995. Entre agosto/2008 à fevereiro/2010 trabalhou como professor associado de jornada completa na Facultad de Ingenieria Eléctrica da Potificia Universidade Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Chile. Publicou 2 artigos em revista ISI internacionais e mais de 28 trabalhos em congressos. Co-orientou trabalho de mestrado (na área de Engenharia Mecânica) envolvendo processamento de imagem para robô soldador. Orientou mais de 11 trabalhos de conclusão de curso na área de Engenharia Elétrica (3 deles na PUCV, Chile), mas concentrados na área de controle automático, processamento de imagens e robótica. Atua na área de controle automático, automação e robótica. Interesses atuais pelas área de: robótica móvel, processamento de imagens, redes deep-learning.
