Sebastian Velten Drude

Master's degree in Linguistics and Latin-American Anthropology (Magister Artium) at Freie Universität Berlin (1997) and Ph.D. (Dr. Phil.) in Linguistics at Freie Universität Berlin (2002). Currently grantee (PCI, CNPq) at the Museu P.E. Goeldi, where he used to be affiliated, between 1997 and 2011, as visiting researcher. Until recently, he was director of a UNESCO Centre about Multilingualism and Language Diversity at the University of Iceland. Earlier (2011-2017), he held management positions at the European language research data infrastructure CLARIN and at The Language Archive at the Max-Planck-Institute in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Before that (2000-2011), he was research assistant at the University Frankfurt / Germany (Dilthey Fellow, German initiativev "Pro-Humanities"), and at the Free University Berlin (DOBES-Project 2001-2005). Has experience in Linguistics, focusing on Documentary Linguistics (lowland South American languages), descriptive and typological linguistics (focus on Aweti), historical-comparative linguistics, language data infrastructure and tools, lexicography. More than 13 months of field work, mostly among the Aweti.

Possui mestrado em Lingüística e Antropologia Latinoamericana pela Freie Universitat Berlin (1997) e doutorado em Lingüística pela Freie Universität Berlin (2002). Atualmente é bolsista PCI no Museu P.E. Goeldi, Belém, Pará, onde já esteve, de 1997 a 2011, vinculado como pesquisador visitante. Ate março 2019 foi diretor de um centro sobre multilingualismo e diversidade linguistica em cooperação com a UNESCO na Universidade da Islândia. Antes (2011-2017) teve cargos de gestor senior na infra-estrutura Européia para dados de pesquisa linguisticos CLARIN e no The Language Archive, no Instituto Max Planck de Nimega, Holanda. Ainda antes (2000-2011) foi assistente de pesquisa da Universidade de Frankfurt / Alemanha (bolsa "Dilthey", iniciativa alemã "Pro Humas", 2007-2011), e na Universidade Livre de Berlim (projeto DOBES, 2000-2005). Tem experiência na área de Lingüística, com ênfase em Lingüística Indígena e Lingüística Computacional, atuando principalmente nas seguintes áreas: documentação lingüística, estudo descritivo / tipologico do Aweti, lingüística histórica-comparativa do Awetí e de outras línguas Tupí, lexicografia e anotação de textos, acervos digitais e multi-mídia. Mais que 13 meses de pesquisa de campo, principalmente entre os Awetí.
