José Paulo Gonçalves de Oliveira

José Paulo G. de Oliveira holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from UFPE (2022), a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from UFPE (2003) and a degree in Electrical-Electronic Engineering from UFPE (2001). He worked as a Research Engineer at FOM - Forschung Institut fuer Optroniks (currently part of the Fraunhofer Institute) in Karlsruhe, Germany (2003/2004) and as a DAAD scholar at the same institute between 2005 and 2009. Some of the main contributions of his work at FOM include the development, modeling and improvement of optical communications systems through the atmosphere for use in satellite communications and military communications. Between 2010 and 2017, he was Senior Engineer at FITec - Fundação para Inovações Tecnológicas (Porto Digital company in Recife), where he developed and coordinated RD&I activities in the areas of embedded computing systems applied to: industrial and commercial automation; automotive industry; Medical equipment; telecommunications; and alternative energy. He is currently Professor of the Computer Engineering course at the University of Pernambuco, where he has been responsible for disciplines in the area of ​​embedded systems since 2010. Currently, José Paulo develops research related to the application of Machine Learning in automated testing of embedded systems within the scope of Industry 4.0.

José Paulo G. de Oliveira é Doutor em Engenharia Elétrica pela UFPE (2022), Mestre Engenharia Elétrica pela UFPE (2003) e Graduado em Engenharia Elétrica-Eletrônica pela UFPE (2001). Trabalhou como Engenheiro Pesquisador no FOM - Forschung Institut fuer Optroniks (atualmente parte do Fraunhofer Institute) em Karlsruhe, na Alemanha (2003/2004) e como bolsista DAAD/Capes no mesmo instituto entre 2005 e 2009. Algumas das principais contribuições de seus trabalhos no FOM incluem o desenvolvimento, modelagem e aperfeiçoamento de sistemas de comunicações ópticas através da atmosfera para utilização em comunicações via satélite e comunicações militares. Entre 2010 e 2017 foi Engenheiro Sênior da FITec - Fundação para Inovações Tecnológicas (empresa do Porto Digital de Recife), onde desenvolveu e coordenou atividades de PD&I nas áreas de sistemas computacionais embarcados aplicados a: automação industrial e comercial; indústria automotiva; equipamentos médicos; telecomunicações; e energia alternativa. Atualmente, é Professor Adjunto do curso de Engenharia da Computação da Universidade de Pernambuco, onde é responsável pelas disciplinas da área de sistemas embarcados desde 2010. Atualmente, José Paulo desenvolve pesquisa relacionada à aplicação de Aprendizado de Máquina em testes automatizados de sistemas embarcados no âmbito da Indústria 4.0.
