Jeanlex Soares de Sousa received his in physics from the Universidade Federal do Ceará, Fortaleza, Brazil, in 2002. In 2008, he joined this university as adjunct professor in the Physics Department. He also worked in the Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, USA, from 2000 to 2002 as a visiting scholar. JSS is author and co-author in more than 40 technical papers and book chapters, and his current research interests are electronic and optical properties of nanostructures, molecular electronics, quantum device modeling, and bio-nanotechnology. Member of the Advisory Board of the Seara da Ciência, the office for Science popularization of the Universidade Federal do Ceará.

Has experience in Physics, focusing on Electronic States, acting on the following subjects: si/sio2, pontos quânticos, quantum well, simulação de dispositivos and nanocristais. Desde 2018 atua como Conselheiro Científico da Seara da Ciência, órgão de divulgação científica e tecnológica da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC).
