O objetivo desta dissertação é apreender o modo como a sociedade civil em Itaguaí-RJ se organiza diante do processo de reestruturação econômica contemporânea, em um recorte temporal fixado entre 2001 e 2013. Diante da concepção marxista de Estado, com seu domínio exercido pelo capital, apresenta-se os empreendimentos implantados nas últimas duas décadas na cidade, tendo como norte os impactos que tais empreendimentos produziram no tecido social local. Fundamentado no conceito de Gramsci de sociedade civil , esta dissertação produz um olhar sobre a organização dos munícipes, em suas características tradicionais, seus avanços e limites, especialmente através das associações de moradores e dos Conselho de Segurança Pública e Conselho de Saúde
The aim of this work is to understand how the civil society in Itaguai-RJ is organized on the contemporary economic restructuring process, in a time frame set between 2001 and 2013. Given the Marxist conception of the State, with its dominance of the capital, presents the projects implemented in the last two decades in the city, with the north impacts that such projects produced in the local social fabric. Based on the concept of Gramsci's "civil society", this work produces a look at the organization of the citizens in their traditional features, its advances and limits, especially through neighborhood associations and the Council of Public Security and Health Council
