The ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR) is a South American regional center for theoretical physics created in 2011 in a collaboration of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste with the São Paulo State University (UNESP) and the Sao Paulo Research Funding Agency (FAPESP). The ICTP-SAIFR goals are to conduct theoretical physics research at the highest international standards; to provide an international center for schools and workshops; and tosupport research in those South American countries where theoretical physics research is not yet well-developed.
