Graduate in Physics from Universidade de São Paulo (1978), M. Sc. from Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas (1980) and Docteur- ès-Sciences from Université Des Sciences Et Techniques Du Languedoc (1992). Actually is full professor at the Institut national des Sciences Appliquées de Rouen. In the past, has been successively dean of international affairs, dean of the Mechanical Engineering Department , director of the DEA "Modelling, Control, Optimization", director of the DEA "Sciences of Engineering", administrator of the department of Civil Engineering. Has been also named by the INSA-Rouen as coordinator for the creation of the Center of High Speed Machining, the construction of the building "Magellan", the creation of the department of Civil Engineering, delegate of european and international relations of the group INSA, director of the Laboratoire de Mécanique de Rouen, director of the Laboratoire d'Optimisation et Fiabilité en Mécanique des Structures. Is actually head of the Laboratoire de Mécanique de Normandie, dean of european and international affairs of the INSA-Rouen and manages the international french-dominican program for the complementary formation of dominican engineers in France. He was member of the french committee for "graduação sanduiche" and for the creation of the program BRAFITEC. Has experience in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, namely theoretical and numerical aspects, stochastic methods and convex analysis.

Já foi diretor de relações internacionais do INSA de Rouen, diretor do Departamento de Mécanique do INSA de Rouen, diretor do DEA "Modélisation, Contrôle et Optimisation", diretor do DEA "Sciences de l'Ingénieur", diretor provisório do Departamento de Génie Civil et Constructions Durables do INSA de Rouen, responsável de missões (criação do Centre Régional d'Usinage Grande Vitesse, Construction do Institut de Mécanique de Rouen, criação do Departamento de Engenharia Civil), Délégué aux Relations Européennes et Internationales du Groupe INSA, diretor do Laboratoire de Mécanique de Rouen, diretor do Laboratoire d'Optimisation et Fiabilité en Mécanique des Structures. É atualmente diretor do Laboratoire de Mécanique de Normandie , directeur de Relations Européennes et Internationales de l'INSA de Rouen e responsável pelo programa franco-dominicano de formação de engenheiros dominicanos em França. Foi um dos membros da comissão francesa de implementação do programa de graduação-sanduiche e de criação do programa BRAFITEC. Tem experiência na área de Matemática Aplicada e Mecânica Teórica, com ênfase em Análise Numérica, Métodos Estocásticos e Análise Convexa.
