Pedro Kröger (1974, Brazil) is a Professor at the School of Music of
the Federal University at Bahia were he received a Doctor of Musical
Arts and a Bachelor of Music degree in composition.
He won some prizes in composition competitions, including the First
prize at the XIII Apresentação dos Compositores da Bahia, Second prize
at the II National Competition of Composition, second prize at the VII
National Competition of Composition, first prize at the II National
Competition of Composition "City of Rio de Janeiro", first prize at
the VI National Competition of Composition.
His works (both acoustic and electroacoustic) have been performed in
Central and South America (Brazil, Colombia, Cuba) and Europe (Vienna,
Norway, Italy).
Mr. Kröger was an Assistant Professor at Federal University at Bahia
in 1998 and 1999 teaching Composition, Harmony and Counterpoint,
History of Music, and Musical Appreciation. He has given lectures and
speeches on composition, analysis, tuning systems, and computer
music. He is the co-editor and founder of ICTUS, the graduate music
journal at Federal University at Bahia.
