Raquel Pires Cavalcanti

Bailarina, coreógrafa, pesquisadora e professora de dança e da Técnica Alexander. Possui graduação em Artes Liberais pela Adelphi University (NY/EUA, 2008) e Mestrado em Dança Educação pela New York University (NY/EUA, 2010). Professora do Curso de Dança do Departamento de Artes Cênicas da Escola de Belas Artes, UFMG. Atua no campo da dança contemporânea, principalmente nas seguintes áreas: Improvisação, Performance, Educação Somática e Pedagogia da Dança. Possui especialização na Técnica Alexander certifcada pela IRDEAT (1999) - Institute of Research, Development and Education in the Alexander Technique (NY/EUA) e pós graduação pelo MCAT - Manhattan Center of the Alexander Technique (2003) (NY/EUA). É doutora pelo Programa de Pós-graduação Artes da Cena da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, SP.

Holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Adelphi University (NY / USA, 2008) and a Master's degree in Dance Education from New York University (NY / USA, 2010). Professor of the Dance Department of the Department of Performing Arts of the School of Fine Arts, UFMG. She works in the field of contemporary dance, mainly in the following areas: Improvisation, Performance, Somatic Education and Dance Pedagogy. Holds a specialization in the Alexander Technique (1999) - Institute of Research, Development and Education in the Alexander Technique (NY / USA) and postgraduate degree by MCAT - Manhattan Center of the Alexander Technique (NY / USA). She is a member of the Brazilian Association of the Alexander Technique. PhD in the Arts Program of the Scene of the State University of Campinas, SP.
