Cristina Becker Lopes Perna

Bacharel em Letras Português-Inglês-Francês (1981) e Licenciada em Letras Português-Inglês (1982) pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Possui especialização em Línguística Aplicada ao Inglês (PUCRS, 1983), Mestrado em Letras (PUCRS, 1990) e Doutorado em Letras (PUCRS, 2003), com estágio de doutorado-sanduíche na Indiana State University (EUA) e pós-doutorado na Newcastle University - Inglaterra (Estágio Sênior Capes).Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Ensino de Linguística, Língua Inglesa e Língua Portuguesa como Língua Adicional, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Aquisição de Língua Inglesa e Língua Portuguesa; Pragmática; Aspectos Cognitivos envolvidos na Aprendizagem de L2 e na tradução. É professora-titular da Escola de Humanidades (Letras) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da PUCRS, no qual coordena o grupo de pesquisa sobre o Uso e Processamento de Línguas Adicionais para fins acadêmicos (UPLA). É Editora Chefe da Revista BELT+ (Brazilian English Language Teaching Journal), que possui Qualis A3 e atua como Tradutora Público-Juramentada em Inglês-Português, pela Junta Comercial do Rio Grande do Sul. Coordena as Provas de Proficiência em Língua Estrangeira dos Cursos de Graduação e Pós-Graduação da PUCRS, além de atuar como Tutora do PET-Letras.

Holds a BA in Portuguese-English-French (1981) and a Degree in Portuguese-English (1982) from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). A Specialization in Linguistics Applied to English Teaching (PUCRS, 1983), a Master of Arts (PUCRS, 1990) and a PhD in Lettres (PUCRS, 2003), with a doctorate internship at Indiana State University. She is a Sworn Public Translator to English-Portuguese-English. Has experience in Letters, with emphasis in Linguistics Education, English Language and Portuguese as Additional Language, and conducts research on the following subjects: English and Portuguese Language Acquisition; Pragmatics; Cognitive aspects involved in L2 learning and translation. She is Editor in Chief of BELT + Magazine (Brazilian English Language Teaching Journal). She is an associate professor of the School of Letters and of the Graduate Program in Letters at PUCRS, in which she coordinates the Research Group on the Use and Processing of Additional Languages. She coordinates the Lato Sensu Course in Translation, the Proficiency Exams of the Foreign Language Courses of the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs at PUCRS, and is also the Lexis Language Center Relationship Coordinator at PUCRS. Coordinated the TOEFL tests (2004-2015, PUCRS) and Mandarin Course (2008-2014, PUCRS). Was the Advisor for International Affairs of PUCRS (2010-2012) and Relationship Coordinator with universities (2012-2014), responsible for the liaison with other higher education institutions. In addition to these duties, she conducts several scientific initiation research grant projects, focusing on the areas of Applied Linguistics, Terminology and Olympism. She has also worked at the interface with the School of Sports and Physical Sciences Education (FEFID-PUCRS), the School of Social Communication (FAMECOS-PUC) and the School of Informatics (FACIN-PUC) in research projects grounded by Linguistics.
