He has lead several research projects on Industrial and Applied Biotechnology and has been awarded research project grants. Currently, Professor in Biotechnology and Microbiology at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Institute of Agricultural Sciences. Previously worked as Research Specialist at CTC, Research Scientist at VTT Brasil, and Doctoral Researcher at CTBE, in projects related to E2G, Enzyme Technologies, and Industrial Biotechnology. He has already filed 3+ patents of innovative technologies. He has published 30+ papers in international peer-reviewed journals in collaboration with various national and international institutions worldwide, in the fields of biotechnology, industrial microbiology, biofuels, and enzymology. He is a member of the editorial board and ad hoc reviewer of international journals like BioMed Research International, EC Microbiology and Biocatalysis, and Agricultural Biotechnology. He received his BSc in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Viçosa in 2007, and MSc and DSc in Food Science State University of Campinas, Brazil in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
